VOW Talks Major WWE – Fox Deal, How WWE’s Focus Might Change, Will SmackDown Become The ‘A’ Show?
On this week’s installment of the Voice Of Wrestling Podcast, Chris Cash and ProWrestling.com’s very own, Nick Paglino break down the huge WWE deal to take Smackdown onto Fox in detail, discussing whether the product will change moving forward. Below are a few highlights from the conversation:
WWE’s Focus Changing
Nick Paglino:
“The major revenue stream here now is through television rights, so I do expect there to be more focus on television. There may be less focus on the next episode of Camp WWE, but there might be a little bit more focus on Raw, and a little bit more focus on SmackDown, you might get some marquee matchups, you might get Daniel Bryan vs Shinsuke Nakamura on SmackDown because the priority is going to be there.”

Chris Cash:
“Knowing how WWE has been in the past when they change networks, they go all out, for months leading up to it you’re going to be seeing a ton of marketing behind it and they are going to want to put their best foot forwards so you are going to see some sort of change, obviously.”
Will SmackDown Become The ‘A’ Show?
Nick Paglino:
“When we are getting close to October 2019 and WWE is hyping this thing and we get a roster draft and Roman Reigns and Ronda Rousey, maybe, come over to SmackDown, this is going to be the biggest thing since sliced bread and it will be the A show… for the rest of October, and maybe even the rest of 2019. That show, if it’s the same Vince McMahon and the same creative team it always has been, it will dial itself back to being that B show.”
Also on the show this week, Chris and Nick discuss the following:
-“All In” Sells Out
-Roman Watch: What did Chris and Nick think of Roman claiming he is “already a heel”?
-How did WWE do this week building the Ronda Rousey/Nia Jax championship match?
-The B Team
-John Cena and Nikki Bella getting back together!
