Jim Ross Confirms He Is Leaving WWE

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross, 67, announced on the latest edition of his podcast The Jim Ross Report that he recently had a meeting with Vince McMahon and the two have decided to “part ways” when his contract with the company expires on March 29th.

JR has been under contract with WWE since his return at WrestleMania 33, where he called the main event match between Roman Reigns and The Undertaker. Since then he has made rare appearances including the 25th anniversary of Monday Night RAW as well as providing commentary for the 2018 Mae Young Classic.

In related news, Ross noted on his podcast that he does not expect to be out of work for long following his pending release (he has been rumored for AEW since before the promotion was officially announced).

He also confirmed that, unless plans fall through, he will be changing the format to his long-running podcast and starting a new series with Conrad Thompson as his co-host. Conrad is already the host of podcasts with Bruce Prichard, Eric Bischoff and Tony Schiavone, is the driving force behind the Starrcast wrestling convention, and has been used as an announcer for the AEW rallies in Jacksonville and Las Vegas.
