PRO: Two Hours = More Opportunity

Under any other circumstances I would normally never advocate for more hours of WWE television in the week, but the NXT roster could really benefit from having more time. For every Adam Cole and Shayna Baszler who have become major, weekly stars for the brand there are a dozen really talented individuals like Dijakovic and Dakota Kai who are supremely talented, that I would like to see a lot more of.

I have a great appreciation for how much emotion Candice LeRae added to the rivalry between Gargano and Ciampa, but how long did it take for her to get any significant time to show what she can do in the ring? Two years after signing and they finally gave her a spot on a Takeover card – wouldn’t you know it, she absolutely stole the show with Io Shirai.

Those types of moments will come more often, in theory, with an expanded NXT show each week. A second hour (really it’s about 44 minutes with commercials) should help the women’s division more than anything else. With less than an hour to work with each week, it’s rare to see a significant women’s program that doesn’t involve Shayna Baszler’s never-ending conveyer belt of horror.
