Sead Kolašinac’s Marseille home burgled with girlfriend and daughter at the scene

Olympique de Marseille’s Bosnian wing-back Sead Kolašinac (29) is the latest OM player to be subject to a home burglary, according to a report from 20 Minutes.

The former Arsenal man played the whole Coupe de France round of 32 tie against Stade Rennais on Friday night (1-0). Unfortunately, in the meantime, his home was burgled while his partner and his daughter were present. The outlet report that Kolašinac’s family did not suffer any physical harm, but are obviously shocked with the distressing event of a home invasion. 20 Minutes add that the Bosnian international insists on finding a way to ensure his family’s safety as soon as possible. The material damage has yet to be determined.

This burglary falls at the wrong time for Marseille, if ever there was a right time for it, as Les Phocéens are looking to extend Kolašinac’s contract. The Bosnian international’s current deal is set to expire at the end of the season. He has proved decisive in front of goal this winter, finding the net against Monaco, Lorient and Toulouse, all the while showing a high degree of versatility by slotting in both as a left-sided centre-back as well as out on the wing. Kolašinac is held in particularly high regard by OM president Pablo Longoria, and a meeting is due to take place in the near future to work out a contract extension. The player himself is reportedly happy at the club.
