WWE NXT Results (5/30): Shayna Baszler Defends Her Title, Ricochet vs Donovan Dijak, EC3 in Action & More

– A video package opened NXT bringing everyone current with the rivalry between Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano, culminating in last week’s brawl that saw Candice LeRae accidentally caught up in the carnage.

IN-RING SEGMENT

NXT Champion Aleister Black made his way to the ring in a fairly rare appearance to an okay reception. He said a line about being able to make anyone “fade to black” with just one shot, but before he could get going Lars Sullivan interrupted him. The big man announced that per order of William Regal, he was the next challenger for the title at NXT Takeover; Chicago. Lars said he wouldn’t be knocked out, and he won’t fade to black because Black has never faced anyone like him before.

Sullivan turned to leave but instead rushed the champion, grabbing him by the neck. Black fought free and tried for the Black Mast, but Lars caught his leg and hoisted him up for the Freak Accident, leaving him laying in the middle of the ring with the title draped over his body.

WAR RAIDERS vs. TWO DEAD JOBBERS

This lasted about two minutes with Hanson and Ray Rowe just destroying their competition. I’m assuming the local guys had names, but they’re dead now. Rowe did all his usual shocking big man stuff, doing a dive to the floor and big splashes in the corner. War Raiders won it with Fallout.

Winners: War Raiders

– They aired a video package about Shayna Baszler being a bully, and Dakota Kai spending the last month trying to work up the courage to stand up to her.

– Lacey Evans was interviewed backstage. It was announced that since her and Kairi Sane each had one win apiece in their rivalry, next week there would be a rubber match. Lacey didn’t seem worried about it, saying she doesn’t care that Sane won the Mae Young Classic, because she has a “women’s right” with her name on it.

EC3 vs. FABIAN AICHNER

Lots of “NX3” chants as things got started. Aichner fired off with some nice knife-edge chops and a gutwrench suplex for a one-count. EC3 caught him in the ropes and sent him crashing to the floor, but before things could go any further Johnny Gargano came out with a piece of paper in his hand and grabbed a microphone. He said he had a signed contract for Gargano vs. Ciampa II in a Chicago Street Fight, then slammed the mic down and walked away.

EC3 did not look happy about someone coming out and interrupting his match. As he was distracted by Johnny, his opponent hit the ropes and flew to the floor in a ridiculously impressive springboard splash. They brawled back in the ring but EC3 caught him with a neckbreaker and hit the One-Percenter to put it away.
