Backstage News On Eli Drake’s New Impact Wrestling Deal and the Possibility of a WWE Signing
As we noted on Monday, Impact Wrestling has announced that Eli Drake has re-signed wth the company, amidst speculation as to what Drake’s future would hold. Drake’s pervious deal with Impact expired before the last set of Impact TV tapings, leaving Drake unbooked for Slammiversary in case he decided against re-signing.
According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, Drake’s new contract with Impact Wrestling is a multi-year deal, so the possibility of Drake signing with WWE is not happening, or at least not happening anytime soon.
Meltzer speculated that Drake, a top star in Impact, might not necessarily be treated as a top star in WWE, as evidenced by talents such as Bobby Roode making his way from Impact to WWE.

In related news, Drake responded to Twitter fan who believes he would make more money in WWE or NXT as opposed to Impact:
I hope you resign with Impact because I’m a big fan of your promos. Funny shit. You would probably make more money if you sign with WWE/NXT but they probably wouldn’t use you right.
