Charlotte Tweets About Her Experience At Starrcade

Charlotte, the WWE Smackdown Women’s champion tweeted about her night at Starrcade where she faced off against Nataliya in a steel cage match reminiscent of the steel cage match her father faced Harley Race in to win the NWA title at the first Starrcade event in 1983.

Last night in Greensboro was an experience I never knew I wanted, never knew I could have. Performing in North Carolina, performing at Dream’s dream…performing at #WWEStarrcade with my dad watching. Speechless. Thank you. ?? pic.twitter.com/o0VlQ9FIov

Of course, having Ric return to his old stomping grounds after the scary health battles he has suffered was the highlight of the event. Flair main evented over 10 Starrcade events during it’s run, including being in the main event of the first 8 Starrcade shows in the 80s and 90s. Interestingly, Charlotte herself was a part of Starrcade 1993 when her father was facing Vader in a match where Flair would have to retire if he lost. During the event, a video was shown on Ric comforting his family, including a young Charlotte, before setting out for the event.
Ric himself spoke briefly about what the event means now, what it did back then, and “Locker Room 5” in the Greensboro Coliseum.
