Kane Officially Wins, Dunne Will Be a Father, New Backlash Match
WWE Superstar Glenn “Kane” Jacobs has been taking a lot of time off from the ring over the past few months to concentrate on a career in politics. After several months of campaigning to run for mayor of Knox County, Tennessee, it was revealed earlier this week that Kane won the primary by just seventeen votes. It was later discovered that some provisional ballots still needed to be looked over. However, it has just been confirmed that Kane will indeed serve as the Republican nominee for the election taking place this August. Kane thanked his supporters on his official Twitter account not long after he was officially declared to be a candidate in the mayoral race.
Provisional ballots are counted… I’m proud to be the official Republican nominee for Knox County mayor! Thanks to the @knoxvotes for your exemplary work and ensuring an open and transparent process.

“The Bruiserweight” Pete Dunne had been one of the most devious villains in NXT up until recently. Over the past few weeks, Dunne has become more of a fan-favorite in NXT as he prepares to get revenge against his former tag team partner Roderick Strong. Dunne has been the UK Champion in WWE for nearly a year, but he has also just received some more great news. Dunne officially revealed on social media earlier this week that he will officially become a father with his firstborn child set to arrive in November of this year. Dunne may have a ton of victories in his career already, but now it looks like the United Kingdom Champion will have to get himself ready for a completely new challenge.

Backlash is a new pay-per-view from WWE that will officially be airing live on the WWE Network this weekend . The event will see competitors from Raw and Smackdown compete on the same show once again, and the WWE Championship, Raw Women’s Championship, Smackdown Women’s Championship, and other titles will all be defended on the show. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE may be planning to add another title match to the Backlash show. The report states that WWE could be adding a Cruiserweight Championship match between Buddy Murphy and Cedric Alexander to the show. That match has not been officially announced as of yet, but there is still a chance WWE could add it to Backlash by this Sunday.
