WWE Superstar Kane Wins Election to Be Mayor of Knox County, TN

Glenn Jacobs, better known to wrestling fans as Kane, has just won an election and will soon be serving as the Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee. Jacobs has followed in the footsteps of individuals such as Jessie “The Body” Ventura and Linda McMahon by transitioning away from a pro wrestling career into a political field. Kane announced last year that he would be running for mayor in the town that he and his wife have both lived in for years as a Republican. After months of going door to door and meeting with town members, Kane proved that he has the interest and understood the compassion of the citizens of Knox County in mind as the town has just elected him to be their next mayor last night.

“The Big Red Monster” secured the victory during the election yesterday by defeating his opponent, Democrat Linda Haney, in a landslide win. Despite only narrowly securing the Republican nomination earlier this year, Jacobs was still heavily favored to win the election given that the Knox County area traditionally votes red. Jacobs gave a speech after his victory talking about how he much he cannot wait to begin working as mayor and how the criticism towards his pro wrestling career only inspired him to work harder for the citizens of Knox County. Reporters were present to capture Kane’s win, and it has even been noted that there were some WWE cameras in town documenting the events leading up to the election as well.

Obviously, this could have huge ramifications for Kane’s career in WWE. Kane has said in the past that he would be willing to make occasional appearances in WWE while serving as the mayor, but after entertaining fans in the ring for over two decades, Glenn Jacobs will now be taking on a brand new career for himself. Several WWE roster members have voiced their support for Jacobs in the past and have since congratulated him on his huge win. Kane is now the first active member of the WWE roster to win an elected office position, and his reign as mayor will be starting very soon. If his accomplishments and impressions that he has made in wrestling are any indication, the people of Knox County may be in good hands with Kane as their mayor.
