OC Batbusters-Garcia and Georgia Impact Premier 05-Lewis win inaugural U.S. Games

VIERA, FLA. — Georgia Impact Premier 05-Lewis in the 14-Under division, and OC Batbusters-Garcia in the 12-Under division, were crowned champions of the inaugural U.S. Games, co-hosted by USA Softball and USSSA. Taking place January 18-20 at USSSA Space Coast Complex, each division consisted of six teams competing in pool play to determine seeding in the championship brackets. The brackets played in double elimination fashion with a best-of-three format for the championship matchups.

OC Batbusters-Garcia cruised through the 12U division on the way to an undefeated 7-0 tournament. Three victories in pool play over Tampa Mustangs Henry, Auburndale Synergy 07, and Florida Impact 08 earned the team the number one seed in bracket play and a first-round bye. OC Batbusters-Garcia posted back-to-back 10-2 wins over Georgia Impact Premier Sullivan and second-seeded Gold Coast Hurricanes-Viruet, earning a date in the championship against Auburndale Synergy 07. OC Batbusters-Garcia won 9-7 and 9-2 and claimed the championship of the 12U division.

Georgia Impact Premier 05-Lewis lost just once and allowed only one team to score in pool play on its way to the 14U championship. Roaring out of the gate to a 12-0 victory against Tulsa Elite 05, Georgia Impact Premier 05-Lewis continued to gain momentum with wins against SFL Diamond Dusters-Perantoni and Gold Coast Hurricanes, respectively, to earn the top seed and first-round bye.

Georgia Impact Premier 05-Lewis opened with 9-0 first-round victory against Florida Bombers. A tough matchup ended with a 5-4 Georgia Impact Premier 05-Lewis victory over OC Batbusters-Mascarenas. The explosive Georgia Impact Premier 05-Lewis leapt to a convincing 9-1 victory over OC Batbusters-Mascarenas in game one, but roles were flipped in game two with OC Batbusters-Mascarenas posting 7-0 victory. The winner-take-all game three saw Georgia Impact Premier 05-Lewis prevail victorious and champions of the 14U division in a 4-2 win.

Gold Coast Hurricanes-Viruet placed third in the 12U division and Tulsa Elite 05 claimed third place in the 14U division.
